DVM
Now in her eighth year with Carson Animal Hospital, Dr. Kristy Furman brings a passion for personalized veterinary care to every patient she sees. After earning her undergraduate degree from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, she attended Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine, where she developed special interests in surgery, dermatology, ultrasound, and preventive care.
Dr. Furman’s approach is rooted in building lasting relationships with clients and their pets. She believes there’s no one-size-fits-all plan for care—treatment should be tailored to each animal’s needs, age, and the family’s goals and resources. Whether it’s keeping a new puppy healthy or helping a senior pet stay comfortable, her goal is always to meet people where they are and provide the care that works best for them.
A Scott resident, Dr. Furman lives with her husband Danny, their two-year-old son Dean, and their dog Maggie—and they’re excited to welcome another son soon! Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with family and friends and taking vacations whenever she gets the chance.
