Dr. Jim R. Carson III, DVM


Dr. Carson graduated from Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine in 1978 and has been practicing in Lafayette since 1981. He has and always will have a passion for the pets and people of Lafayette. Dr. Carson has three sons and is currently at two grandchildren and counting. In his spare time he enjoys working on his farm and of course his cows.

Dr. Jim R. Carson IV, DVM MS

Dr. Jim started very early in veterinary medicine, but mostly that was just running around this place and doing everything his dad told him not to. After completing his bachelors degree in Biology at UL, he went on to attended Auburn University (War Eagle!) where he received a Masters in Immunology. In 2012 he graduated from LSU School of Veterinary medicine and was the recipient of the Hershey Comeaux Memorial Award of Excellence.He then moved to South Florida where he completed a 1-year rotating small animal medicine and surgery internship at Hollywood Animal Hospital. He joined Carson Veterinary Clinic in 2014 and has been loving it ever since. His primary interests are internal medicine, rigid and flexible endoscopy, general and restorative dentistry and soft tissue surgery. He is married to his fantastic and patient wife and their family currently includes two awesome little boys, a new baby girl and one very hyper golden retriever named Sasha.


Crystal Venable


Dr. Crystal Venable is a native of Carencro, Louisiana. After graduating from Carencro High School, she received her Bachelor’s in Animal Science degree from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, where she met her husband Mike, who is also a veterinarian. She obtained her doctorate of veterinary medicine degree from St. George’s University School of Veterinary Medicine on the amazing island of Grenada in the Caribbean. She completed her clinical year at LSU School of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Crystal now lives in Church Point with her husband, Mike, and their son Noah. She has 4 dogs, Nevaeh (Chihuahua), Hank (French Bulldog), Petunia (Boxer) and Lucky (Lab mix) and 2 cats. On her spare time, she loves to read, crafting, and spending time outdoors with her family. Dr. Crystal loves each and every patient as it is her own and believes that communication is key to a successful veterinarian. She looks forward to meeting each and every one of you, along with your loved four legged furry companions!


Kristy Frady


Dr. Kristy Frady grew up in Prairieville, LA. She attended the University of Louisiana at Lafayette to receive her Bachelor of Science degree in biology. After graduating from ULL, she moved to Baton Rouge to receive her doctorate in veterinary medicine at Louisiana State University. Dr. Kristy currently resides in Scott, LA and has 2 dogs, Kimber and Maggie. In her free time she enjoys traveling, being with friends and family, sailboating on Lake Pontchartrain, and trying new neighborhood restaurants. She is so excited to be back in Lafayette and can't wait to meet everyone and their furry companions! 


Dr. Caroline Young Dubuisson, DVM

Dr. Caroline is thrilled to be part of the team at Carson Animal Hospital! She is a native of Abbeville and graduated from LSU in 2007, she then went on to receive her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Tennessee in 2012.  After practicing in Tennessee for a few years, she moved back home and has been happily working in Acadiana since 2015. 

Caroline and her husband, James, live in Lafayette and are the proud parents of two human toddlers, and two Tuxedo cats, Oreo Speedwagon and X (for “Extra Special.”)   

Dr. Caroline is dedicated to forming open and trusting relationships with clients, and making lifelong connections with their pets! Her favorite clinical areas are internal medicine, geriatric and end of life care, and all things feline.

Whether you are discussing your grandmother’s gumbo or your dog’s itching, she is here to listen and help however she can.
